Chapter 1: My Story and Dreams for Witchcraft
Hi there, I’m Ambrosia Hawthorn. You might know me from my books, like The Spell Book for New Witches, or maybe you’ve heard of The Coven Community, a place I built online for witches to connect and grow. This is the start of my story, and I’m glad to have you along for the ride.
My ancestral roots stretch across the globe, from Poland and Puerto Rico to the Yup’ik people in Alaska and Portugal. This mix has deeply influenced who I am and how I see the world. I grew up in California but have lived in many places — each spot on the map adding a piece to the puzzle that is my life.
My path to witchcraft wasn’t straight or easy. Raised in a strict religious household, I often found myself at odds with my family’s beliefs. I was the kid who would sneak off to the metaphysical section in bookstores, absorbing every word about witchcraft I could find. These books were my escape and my first teachers. But it wasn’t just the books; it was the need to connect with something that felt more authentic, more aligned with my inner truth. It was a quiet rebellion against the norms I was expected to follow.
